Music magazine evaluation 1 (Classic Rock)

This classic rock magazine is a prime example of what magazines of this genre should look like, it keeps a consistent theme of black, white and green. The main image of the magazine is correctly chosen as it matches with the theme itself, the image also doesn't clash with any thing else on the page such as the sell lines, masthead or skyline.

The masthead is one of the key features of this magazine cover as it keeps the consistent theme of the cover, it doesn't cover the whole width of the page as it has to account for the sell lines in the top corners. The masthead is written in a clear straight font and is also written in green to keep the colour theme of this front cover.

The main image is probably the biggest feature of this cover as it was carefully chosen to keep the dark black and white theme going, it is also positioned as to not obstruct the masthead. The image shows a single person looking at the camera directly as to address the audience and does this by catching their eye.

The sell lines on the cover give the reader an inside look at what is featured in the magazine and have to be carefully positioned as to not obstruct the main image. In this example the sell lines differ from each other in size as to separate the more important features from the ones that they think the reader will be least interested in. All of the sell lines on this front cover also keep the theme with white and green text on a grey background.

The bar code on this cover is located in the bottom right corner as to not clash with anything else on the page and isn't too small to see and is not too big to cover any of the main image or text.

The overall layout of the page is quite formal with the sell lines lying beneath each other, there are also changes of size in the sell lines and they are positioned in columns along the sides of the cover.
